Biography:
JAY D. MILLER received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Baltimore and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore Law School. Jay is a member of the Gamma Eta Gamma legal fraternity, and he has served on numerous local college advisory committees. He is a member of the Baltimore County, Maryland State and the American Bar Associations as well as the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association. Jay participants in the Maryland State Bar Mentoring Program and provides mentoring to attorneys newly starting their legal careers. Jay is a trial attorney who is recognized as an aggressive and successful litigator and negotiator, having achieved multiple million dollar settlements and verdicts. His areas of practice include medical malpractice, personal injury and products liability. Jay is also licensed to practice in the United States District Court and the United States Supreme Court.
Jay is remarkably adept at medical malpractice litigation and has recovered millions of dollars for his clients. Jay's results for children damaged at childbirth and those afflicted with Cerebral Palsy have earned him the respect of his peers and the gratitude of many clients. A recent 2.7 million dollar result is an example of the monetary success he has achieved on behalf of his many clients. Further, not only has Jay authored articles and acted as a mentor for many young attorneys, his zealous pursuit of his client's rights has taken him to Maryland's highest court where, in agreeing with Jay, the Maryland Court of Appeals overturned existing law and established new law for the whole state, thereby benefiting Jay's client as well as all other similarly situated victims.
Jay is a Platinum Member of the Verdict club, a designation reserved for lawyers with a proven track record of million dollar verdicts. He has also been included in the Martindale Hubble "Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers". I was recently selected again for the 2012 edition of Super Lawyers as Super Lawyer for 2009, 2010, 2011 and now 2012.
