Medical Malpractice
Medical malpractice encompasses a multitude of problems that may arise whenever a person interacts with a medical/healthcare professional, a medical facility, a healthcare facility, or a nursing home. Healthcare professionals and facilities are held to a high standard of care. Healthcare services that fall below that standard of care may result in medical malpractice. There can be errors in diagnosis (such as wrong diagnosis, a failure to correctly diagnose, or waiting too long to make a correct diagnosis); incorrect testing; incorrect treatment; improper implementation of treatment; errors in medical procedures; use of the wrong medication; adverse reactions to medications; anesthesia mistakes, lack of informed consent; pharmaceutical mistakes, surgical negligence; and many other forms of medical/healthcare negligence. Medical malpractice may result in injury, disability, or death. The injuries may extend beyond the patient as the primary victim and affect the victim's loved ones, especially if the patient died and the survivors must cope with the aftermath of such tragedy. Contacting MILLER, MURTHA & PSORAS, L.L.C. as soon as possible is critical because medical malpractice claims, as with other forms of negligence, have certain time restrictions, known as statues of limitation, in which a claim may be brought.
